TOOLS FOR YOUR PRODUCTIVITY · TASKS

A task manager that gives your work structure.

Turn a large project into small, clear actions. Thugtools Tasks is a minimal to-do list with nested subtasks, flexible ordering, and a place to connect the plan behind each task.

Break projects into tasks and subtasks

Start with a task such as “Prepare for an interview” or “Launch a portfolio.” Add smaller actions beneath it, then nest those actions further when a step needs more detail. The hierarchy keeps related work together without turning your list into a crowded dashboard.

You can use the same structure for study sessions, writing projects, personal errands, or a product launch. Keep the parent task as the outcome and use its subtasks for the actions that move it forward.

Reorder work with drag and drop

Drag tasks to change their order. Move a task right to nest it, or left to pull it back up a level. On mobile, hold a task card for a quarter of a second to start dragging. You can also use the task controls to indent and outdent items.

When you complete a task, it moves below its siblings at the same level. Its subtasks travel with it. Completing one small step therefore keeps the rest of the project in place while giving unfinished work more attention.

Connect a task to a Markdown plan

Use the link control on a task to choose a saved plan. The plan can hold preparation notes, a roadmap, or a detailed checklist, while your task list stays easy to scan.

Each plan belongs to one task at a time. Choosing a plan that is already assigned moves the link to the task you are working on. You can open the plan from the task and return to its linked task from the plan.

How to get started

  1. Open Tasks and type a task into the input, then press Enter.
  2. Add subtasks or drag items to build a useful hierarchy.
  3. Open Plans to import or write the context behind your work.
  4. Link a plan to its task and check off actions as you finish them.

Example: a focused interview preparation list

Create “Prepare for an interview” as a parent task. Add “Practice reasoning,” “Review SQL,” and “Prepare project explanations” underneath it. Nest practice exercises under each topic and attach your preparation roadmap to the parent task.

Where your work is saved

Your work is saved locally in the browser and device where you create it. There is no account or cross-device sync. Clearing site data removes your saved work. Download important plans and notes as Markdown to keep a separate copy.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create subtasks inside subtasks?

Yes. Tasks supports nested subtasks, so you can break an action into smaller steps while keeping it inside the same project.

What happens when I complete a task?

The completed task moves below its siblings at the same level. Any subtasks move with their parent, preserving the hierarchy.

Does task dragging work on a phone?

Yes. Hold a task card for 0.25 seconds to activate dragging, then move it to reorder or change its nesting.

Do I need an account to use the task manager?

No. Tasks are saved in your current browser. They are not synchronized between devices or browser profiles.
